Bati or pills are small spherical bodies intended to be swallowed, consisting of one or more medicaments and made into masses by the addition of a suitable inert substance called excipient. They generally vary in weight from 125 mgs to 500 mgs. and occasionally may be heacvier also when medicines are dense. The consistency of the mass is kept such that they retain their shape on keeping but they must not be so hard they fail to disintegrate after administration.
